Description
This corner desperately needs a light, but even a flashing crosswalk light for pedestrians would be so valued. It is incredibly dangerous.

Q. What pedestrian and traffic safety elements would you like the city to consider?
A. 5. Traffic: Traffic Signal Request ( For requests to conduct a traffic signal warrant analysis to determine if a traffic signal is warranted at an intersection.)

My recommendation to city would be to enforce stricter parking rules at intersections. Its free for the city to implement, and also revenue generating by enforcing it.
1. Eliminate parking spots on each corner which would increase visibility at the intersection for drivers and pedestrians. (Total 7 spots as one corner has a fire hydrant.)
2. Continue to enforce how far from the corner you can park as to increase the visibility at all 4 corners of the sidewalk and street. Again, increasing safety and revenue for the city.

Parking still makes it difficult to see corners
Flashings lights confuse people when theyre pressed as pedestrians jump out after clicking it and drivers dont stop when theyre flashing. Its winter and not as dense as spring summer with pedestrians and vehicles. This corner needs a traffic light. Always has needed one.

Traffic lights, as well as stop signs, are only directional for traffic and do not make it safer pedestrians.
Let's see want traffic calming initiatives would be appropriate for this intersection.

Good morning,
Thank you for valuing my input here. Is there a way to pull up the historical data of accidents and fatalities at this intersection? Maybe pull it from the reports @ JCPD/JCFD. I would really just be blown away if we had another fatality here and we had this case open trying to resolve it. The trees on the corners would have to be pruned back a bit and I’m not sure how the sequence would work yo not cause too much congestion adding an additional light, but I think preservation of life is more important than the traffic flow. Please let me know if you need anything on my end or I can meet with an engineer to discuss in person the issues I’ve seen at this intersection over that past 20 years.
