"Enterprise Street currently has bike access, but it is of poor quality and not up to the level required by the Bay Trail. The upgrade will also provide improved access to the existing Bay Trail along White Slough and Sonoma Boulevard.
The work will commence next year as part of a larger 4.2-mile project from Wilson Avenue to American Canyon. The Vine Trail has put up $850,000 in philanthropy monies toward the overall project as a partner. The project is a joint effort between the Solano Transportation Authority, City of Vallejo, Bay Trail and the Vine Trail.
"It’s a great model of a private/public partnership," said Philip Sales, executive director of the Napa Valley Vine Trail.
