Unlicensed AirBnB Archived1312 Pratt Ave Ne Huntsville, AL, 35801, USA - Huntsville
1311 Pratt Ave NE and 1317 Pratt Ave N.E. and 804 McCollough in 5 points are 3 of many unlicensed AirBnB short term rentals in 5 points. These businesses are being operated inside the historic district which I am told is against city ordinance. I'm tired of the drugs, parties and bad elements that these overnight rentals bring to the neighborhood. This past weekend a tenant at 1311 Pratt Ave used the home for a base of car burglaries and car theft. Police found a stolen car there and impounded it full of goods from burglaries in the area.
Being they cannot obtain a license for these addresses. I believe they are not paying business and sales taxes either even though they are collecting them on the website. I have reported this to the Director of Planning where I was forwarded to before when I complained but it fell on deaf ears as nothing was done. My quality of life should not be impaired by city officials not enforcing the city laws and expect this situation to be corrected.I await your response and action.
Thank you,

Construction and Buildings Acknowledged2113 Shades Crest Rd Se Huntsville, AL, 35801, USA - HuntsvilleMy wife and I began complaining to Community Development regarding the debris (including old duct work, plywood, shower doors dead tree limbs, mounds of busted cement, old chairs and pots) in September, 2020 and again in December 2020 and I have spoken to them numerous times since then. My wife spoke with Randy Cunningham at Permitting in January, 2021 since the owner has had a permit for over three years. Mr. Cunningham said that the owner/contractor needed to get a dumpster to put the trash in and that he would send out the inspector to look at it and take pictures for him. Again, nothing ever happened. We called Skip, the City Inspector for this area in early March, 2021 told him about the debris and the piles of dirt, rock and broken cement. We also spoke to him about the mud run-off when it rains. He text us back and said that the owner planned to have it cleaned up in about 2 weeks. NOTHING ever happened. The owner occasionally has work done inside and on porch, but outside cleanup NEVER happens and no dumpster has ever been placed. There is no electricity on and no porta potty. It is beyond my and my neighbor's understanding how this owner/contractor does not have to follow the rules set by the City of Huntsville. We have had no help at all in any of our complaints. The owner works inside on occasion to keep his permit current and parks his works truck in front of debris to help hide it.
This hurts the values of the homes on Shades Crest Road and the neighborhood of Blossomwood. It is a shame that our City Inspectors and Community Development don't respond to the needs of the public. -

Junk Car/Inoperable Vehicle Archived12117 Greenleaf Dr Se Huntsville, AL, 35803, USA - HuntsvilleCity of HSV- it is 2020 and the broken down, unlicensed vehicle has been sitting in the drive or the street over a year. The previous resident still is in and out of the house leaving trash all over the yard that the neighbors have to pick up. This is UNACCEPTABLE. We want this vehicle moved and are sick and tired of no response from the city.

Zoning, Non-conforming use Archived800 Mccullough Ave Ne Huntsville, AL, 35801, USA - HuntsvilleThe Church on Beirne is using the empty Lot at 800 McCullough for spillover parking. Parking lot as primary use is not an allowed use in Residential zoning. The two property's are not even abutting as they are separated by an ally. Even if they had a variance, the prior Church closed and it was not used for parking for more than six months until the property sold to the current Church.
