Looking Around

  • 43 Kingsbury Street Needham, Massachusetts - Needham
Where the road from Needham High comes out onto Kingsbury Street, there is a stretch of Kingsbury lasting approximately 30 to 50 feet where the pavement feels like a massive washboard when one drives over it. As a retired citizen I drive around town a lot and in comparison with everywhere else that I have occasion to go this is by far the worst section of road I encounter anywhere. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

In town parking lot as described above.
  • 492 Dedham Avenue Needham, Massachusetts - Needham
There is a small boulder lying in the road on the inbound [to Needham] side of 135/Dedham Ave almost exactly in front of the Needham Building Department. I would have been happy to remove this obstruction myself but it was a dangerous place to stop so I thought I should report it instead, hopefully before anyone hits it.
    Thank you for your attention.
  • Intersection Of Great Plain Ave And Greendale Ave Needham, Massachusetts - Needham
Approaching the intersection of Great Plain Ave and Greendale Ave from all four directions the road widens from one lane to two. The problem is that the right (curbside) lane in each of those four entrances to the intersection is not marked "Right Turn Only" either on the pavement and/or by a sign to that effect. The result is that cars in the right lane often proceed straight ahead through the intersection to the other side which results in two lanes of cars trying to get into the single lane on the other side, causing very hazardous merging. The other difficulty that results from the current traffic pattern is that cars trying to turn right on red get stuck behind cars in the second (right) lane waiting to go straight ahead when the light changes to green. If the short second lanes in each of the four directions into the intersection were clearly marked "Right Turn Only" both of these problems would be eliminated.
    Thank you for your attention.

1237-1299 Greendale Avenue Needham, Massachusetts - Needham
Direction: Coming down Greendale Ave from Lyons St in Dedham. Location: Just before and abutting the crosswalk from the St. Sebastian skating rink parking lot across to the sidewalk before the Charles Court East driveway entrance. Issue: There is a fairly sizable bump in the road right before the crosswalk the height of an unmarked speed bump which delivers an uncomfortably powerful impact to the car even at low speeds.
