Description
More trash dumped, and even worse the RR tracks need to be maintained! I know the RR company is responsible, so why doesn't our city require maintenance yearly to clean up and clear out the dried up weeds etc? Everything you see beyond the trash is weeds and random trash.
Our city deserves better.

Monthly clean up. Regular maintenance.
Why are we holding on to this rail line? What about Rails to Trails? Can you imagine all of this being a walking/bicycle path? Replanting, lights, paved. It would be so nice.

Thank you for reporting this issue! This issue is under the jurisdiction of the California Northern Railroad (CNR) and we have forwarded your issue to them for handling. Due to CNR's limited budget, they hold their cleanups quarterly in different sections of their tracks so it will take time for them to get to certain areas. VPD's Code Enforcement/Community Services team works closely with CNR with regards to a) informing them whenever we receive a complaint or view any trash/encampments/etc ourselves, and b) coordinating the actual clean-ups.
You may follow up with them by contacting their general manager, Jake Harrison, at jdharrison@gwrr.com. Thanks again for using SeeClickFix!

@Artsem - the tracks are actually federally owned and CNR is a private company contracted by the federal government to maintain these tracks, so we are unable to "enforce" on them (the federal government does have a separate entity that is supposed to "enforce/regulate" but is not very easy to contact. As you may know, Code Enforcement addresses exterior property maintenance issues on private properties, so instead of saying "please contact the federal government" to address this issue, Code Enforcement (and other VPD and City staff) have taken the initiative to address the encampments, trash, etc on these tracks and work along with CNR to make sure the area is maintained.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact me should you have additional questions.
As always, thank you for using SeeClickFix!

I ask because yet more new trash dumped I will be reporting now. Close to the street.
On another note, it is Vallejo residents who are dumping trash and we are not enforcing this so it's gotten really out of hand, shouldn't we just pick up the dumped trash instead of waiting a year or more for it to be picked up by RR? Residents deserve much better than this....
