Thank you for reporting! The Police Department's Community Service Section (CSS) has opened a case for this issue. CSS has one part-time and three full-time employees who are responsible for addressing all quality of life concerns, supporting Neighborhood Watch groups, and working with the Neighborhood Law Program and Code Enforcement to address distressed and dangerous properties. We work hard to investigate each report in a timely manner, and will investigate this report as soon as we possibly can. Please keep in mind there is a lengthy process to remove illegal encampments. Thank you for reporting this issue. CSS has patrolled the area and ticketed all vehicles illegally parked.

This cannot be closed. Just 8 hours after you state cars were ticketed you can clearly see the cars are still there an no tickets. Photo taken at 6 pm.

CSS went back out to this neighborhood again today and there was no illegally parked vehicles. This issue has been closed.

Thank you for checking again. However, two things. 1. That picture does not appear to be from the same street. 2. Both cars are here again tonight illegally parked. How can we take care of this issue if the cars are gone during the day when you check and park every night and weekends?

Thank you for reporting this issue again. Unfortunately CSS is only here Monday through Thursday from 8-6 so we are unable to handle this issue. You can always call 911 if you want an Officer to respond right away.

One of the 2 illegally parked cars was still there at 9:00 am this morning. However, as these cars remain parked illegally the suggestion is to call the police.
One problem with this is the response one gets when they call the VPD. I was yelled at by some chap when I called about a similar thing. I left a message with the commander on duty to point this out and never heard back.
So if violations are committed when it's convenient you can help. If not you risk getting yelled at by the police because illegal parking is not considered important enough.
Case closed.......
Sounds like we are sending a strong message. Park illegally during off business hours and don't call the police unless it's really, really important.

The city is training us well. If you contact the police directly they are either rude, they yell at you, or they tell you that there is no violation when in fact there really is. If you think that's bad try calling back asking why nothing was done...
You can only imagine how frustrating one might feel when denied this forum to address violations. It almost sounds like the city has no intention of doing anything at all, especially when the issues can be tracked in an open forum.

So here we sit in a community that you can park in red zones, park in front of handicap access ramps, park in front of fire hydrants, park on the wrong side of the road, drive 50mph in a 25.... The list goes on and on but never a resolution to stop it.
Sad part is that this is only a fraction of the problems that are ignored.
I hope there are others that are as concerned and would like to see ordinances and laws enforced???
