Description

On July 27, 2012 a truck & trailer crashed into the railing, the lot, on Butte Street, coming to rest across Maxwell Alley. The trailer remained hanging over the railing at the top of the stairs. Along with the bench, the vehicle also plowed down the Bollard to the left of the stairway. This Bollard was given to someone from Public Works by one of the neighbors, it only had minimal damage and thought it would be re-installed shortly. Well, here it is - going on 3 years now, and it's still missing. I'm thinking someone must have forgotten about it. The bolts are still in the ground, sticking up about 4 inches or so. There is a sandwich board over the top of them, however, strong winds blow it over, kids move it around and it is a real eyesore. Also, setting it back in place is dangerous if you get your fingers in the top hinges, they can actually cut the tops of a persons fingers off. While we're at it, same location, the railing is still wobbly and the concrete is still broken. We've heard employees say "we'll get that fixed next week.". However, next week never arrives. Maybe if someone takes a gander around your storage yard, that Bollard just may be hiding in there somewhere, forgotten and all alone, maybe in a dark corner somewhere, scared & crying...Oops. Sorry, got a bit carried away there.
If you look at the picture you can see the bolts. The bench is back so those bolts are just a few inches out from it.
Thank you
