Most of the time people living nearby know who dumped. It’s tenants who moved or someone who got a new mattress on the block. The truck delivered it.
Please allow residents to file a complaint that names or points out the residence where the tenant resided/ resides so the dumpers can be fined.
It’s so unfair to many people that their property is used for a dump. When someone could easily identify the jerks who moved and dumped. Most landlords/ property owners would be thrilled to have support to fine tenants who dump by outing them.
Sadly, it’s the same tenants who do this over and over to the harm of the community.

If you know who did this you can report it to me or the Police Department.

I don’t know about this one. But I’ve got this info in my pocket now to inform you next time I do know.
Previously to this, police will say to tell code enforcement and code enforcement will come to fine the property owner at the address where the dumping occurred which is totally unfair and wrong. I have even had them come and do absolutely nothing for me when the trash was being thrown over the fence. Then write a complaint to the victimized address.

It’s the sick joke of Newburgh: complain and be retaliated against. There has been no enforcement that assists property owners.
That’s crime too. All works the same way.

I have even made complaints about dumping where I asked each of those departments for help directly and the code enforcement sent a person to write a code complaint at the victimized address where the dumping occurred instead of helping! Sick!

George, it’s looking a lot better thanks to your and others efforts but there are still certain known people who delight in dumping. I do think that contacting code or police is a pointless exercise.

Couldn’t you have an official complaint letter to be handed out to the dumpers directly? That way a person could hand one to the dumper directly and send in another copy to you.

I’d love to show you my recent video of a woman on Liberty Street who went way crazy on me when I asked if she would use a trash picker if I bought one for her to use to pick up the trash in front of the address where she sits every day. The verbal abuse went in for so long I was able to film part of it. ( I was in the act of picking up trash in front of her address on the sidewalk. These are the same people who purposely dump.
